ABViewer 16.3 is here! This release introduces new features and improvements across the CAD application, including improved PDF to DWG/DXF conversion, enhanced editing tools, and more efficient G-code generation.

2D Improvements

  • Improved import of DWG and DXF.
  • Improved export to DWG, DXF, PDF, and SVG.
  • Added support for preserving hyperlinks when exporting to PDF.

3D Improvements

  • Added support for Parasolid versions 38.0 and 38.1.
  • Added batch conversion of 3D files to STEP.

PDF to DWG/DXF Conversion Improvements

  • Increased conversion speed.
  • Improved conversion quality.

Editor Mode Improvements

  • Improved the Offset tool:
    • Improved the offset generation algorithm.
    • Added a new Bevel Corners mode.
    • The Bevel Corners mode in ABViewer 16.3
  • Added the Show in Structure command (select an object, right-click it, and choose Show in Structure).
  • Added a 3D Mode setting for dynamic input (File → Settings → Snap → 3D Mode).
  • Improved navigation when the Zoom Optimization setting is enabled.

G-code Generation Improvements

  • Improved the algorithm for processing pockets with multiple passes.
  • Added the ability to edit pocket milling and hole drilling operations (select a pocket or hole, right-click it, and choose Edit operation).
  • Improved G-code mode interface performance:
    • Optimized selection and progress.
    • Expanded operation names in G-code comments.
    • Improved the Processing Queue panel.
      • The Processing Queue panel in ABViewer 16.3
  • Expanded the list of entities supported for conversion:
    • Added support for Solid, Attdef, Attrib, and polylines with width and 3D rotation.
  • Optimized G-code generation for drilling operations:
    • Added automatic tool retraction to the initial plane (G98).

User Interface Improvements

  • Added a button to create a new drawing layout.
    • New layout button in ABViewer 16.3
  • Added the ability to automatically hide pinned panels (right-click a dock panel icon, select Dock options, and enable Auto Hide).
