The Notion of Entity Properties

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Each entity in CAD files has a definite set of properties. Some properties are common for most of the objects, for example, layer, color, lineweight. Apart from that every entity has a special set of properties, for instance a circle has the special properties radius and area, a line has the length and the angle. The full list of the properties for this or that object is displayed in the panel Properties after selecting the element in the drawing.

The properties for the objects are defined either in the panel Properties or in the window Layers. The properties set in the panel Properties have a priority over the ones defined by layer.
