Allows defining exact correspondence between drawing unit and it's size in millimeters, inches or steps (1/1016 inch - for HPGL only).

The most recently used standard scales are displayed in the following drop down list:

Current section views correspondence between drawing's unit and it's size:

Millimeters to inches and vice versa can be changes in the Paper size and paper units section of the Device settings tab.

The following additional drop down list is available when Hewlett-Packard HPGL file is loaded only:

Format size

Displays selected drawing (image) size in inches or millimeters.

You can select any one of the standard format (DIN: A4, A3, A2, A1, A0) or input new size of the drawing (image). If you want to save new format press button, also you can edit (press ) or delete (press ) entered new format. Print Preview stores custom formats so they will be available after reloading.

Width

Specifies the drawing (image) width in inches or millimeters.

Height

Specifies the drawing (image) height in inches or millimeters.

Lock

Saves ratio of width and height of the drawing (image) until you will not translate the Lock button in condition UnLock (the condition of the button is changed one-touches on it).

Paper offset

Specifies the printable area on the sheet. This is made for easy combining the sheets after printing superimposing their friend on friend when glued.
Use paper offset - set this option off to draw an image without fitting inside of the sheet's drawing area.

What does it mean? Every printer defines an area where it puts ink. This is printable area. In most cases this area is less then sheet sizes. The difference between printable area and sheet sizes has standard values for every specific printer.

For instance, there is a drawing with bounding rectangle scaled 1:1 in reference to the sheet's extents. If Use paper offset is on, this file will be fitted in the bounds of printable area. Thus the image will be distorted. If Use paper offset is off, this file will be fitted in the bounds of the sheet sizes and the image will be printed precisely.

Position of rectangle

This drop down list specifies a predefined offsets of the drawing (image) of the printer's printable area.
