Quick Select

Quick Select button on the toolbar or Draw -> Quick Select activates a  dialog box which allows defining filter conditions for selection and a way of combining selected entities.

Apply

Defines whether to apply selection conditions to the whole drawing or to the current suite (if exists).

To entire drawing

Selection conditions are applied to the whole drawing.

To current selection

Select entities button serves for specifying an objects' group for the filtering. When pressing the button dialog box is being closed temporary and a drawing becomes available for selecting entities. Press ENTER key for returning to the dialog box if entities have been selected. Apply parameter take To current selection state.

Filter conditions are applied to the whole drawing if To add in to the current set is on. In this case value To current selection is unavailable for the Apply parameter. Select entities is unavailable too.

Object type

Defining objects' types included in to the selection. Object type list is being filled by all available objects (including those ones that do not belong to Autodesk) if filter conditions are being applied to whole drawing. Otherwise this list is being filled by selected object types only.

Properties

Defining objects' properties for a filter. It contains a list of all properties for the currently chosen objects. These properties are to be used for a selection. Selected property defines additional options available in the lists Operators and Value.

       Common list of properties

       Example: properties for the Circle object

Operators

Defining a range of applying the filter. Dependently on the type of selected property this parameter may take the following states - equals, not equal to, greater then, less then и select all. Operators greater then and less then are unavailable for some properties. A search using template symbols is available for editable text fields only. Use select all for ignoring all filtering properties.

Parameter Value: Continuous

Value

Defining a property's value for the filter. Field Value turns to a list of values if application contains some known values for the selected property. Otherwise it is necessary to use a keyboard for entering new value for a property.

       Example

Parameter Object type: Circle

Parameter Proprties: Linetype scale

Parameter Operators: <> not equal to

Parameter Value: <it is required to be entered by the keyboard>

Selected objects

Defines an action to be performed to the objects which satisfy filter conditions: to include into or to exclude from a new set. Select Include in new selection set option to create a new set which will contain only those objects which fit to filter conditions. Select Exclude from new selection set option to create a new set which will contain only those objects which do not fit to filter conditions.

To add in to the current set

Selecting a way of adding new set to a current one: adding new objects to a current set or replacing current set by the new one.
