Use SHX fonts
Select [Tools > Options] menu command. On tab Fonts press Add AutoCAD paths button to provide SHX fonts from AutoCAD's SHX fonts folder.
Press the 
Browse button on the right of Search path to locate the directory containing other special SHX fonts.
